As a follow up to my recent post on Australian Political Parties – A Digital Marketing Review, below is the new ad from Kevin Rudd and the Australian Labor Party which airs tonight.
The communication strategy interestingly seems to put Kevin Rudd as far out in front of the Labor Party as possible to capitalise on his personal popularity. He doesn’t mention the Labor Party at all in his speech.
Even the end voiceover mentions the ALP, rather than the Labor Party. The treatment of the Labor Party branding is very secondary and supporting.
Whatever your political views, raising the standards is a sentiment I think that most Australians will agree with.
